our story

Turmeric House is an independent creative studio working across spaces, shoots, and builds — creating work that’s thoughtful, functional, and built around how people actually experience it.

We design and style environments, direct commercial shoots, lead art direction, deliver private and commercial fit-outs, and shape brand stories. Everything we do is bespoke. No templates, no shortcuts — just considered creative work that’s tailored to each client and each brief.

Our focus is always on experience.
Spaces that feel right, not overworked.
Design that tells a story but still does its job properly.

Collaboration sits at the centre of how we work. Turmeric House partners with brands, organisations, artists, makers, and suppliers from across the world, forming long-term relationships rather than transactional ones. Over time, this has grown into what we’re known for — a deeply trusted, carefully built creative network. Our little black book isn’t about scale; it’s about knowing who’s good, who’s reliable, and who genuinely cares about what they make.

Alongside studio projects, Turmeric House stays closely connected to the wider creative community. We regularly take part in educational initiatives, local arts projects, and collaborative ventures — sharing knowledge, learning continuously, and supporting the creative work of others.

BEHIND THE STUDIO

Turmeric House was founded by Clare Watson, an interiors, lifestyle, and event curator with a broad, hands-on background across the creative industry.

Clare’s experience spans site and retail management, art direction, brand development, styling, sourcing, set builds, and spatial design. This wide-ranging foundation brings a practical, 360-degree understanding to every project — from concept through to delivery.

Her work has been featured in Vogue Living, Elle, Tatler, Harper’s Bazaar, OK!, NME, Red Magazine, Surrey Life, and Reclaim Magazine, among others.

Rather than specialising narrowly, Clare has always worked across disciplines — building an instinctive way of seeing how ideas, environments, and people intersect.

*“I’ve worn many hats over the years — site manager, art director, stylist, buyer, brand developer, environment curator. Each role has shaped how I work. I’m interested in the full picture, not just one part of it.

My approach is interactive, conceptual, and environmental. Often colourful, sometimes provocative — but always rooted in experience and feeling.”*

That perspective continues to define Turmeric House: work that’s layered, personal, and designed to be lived and loved.
